Residential Treatment

About Our Program

One of the key elements of our program is all of our staff and instructors know firsthand what it takes to get and stay sober.

Having lived through the addiction themselves, our instructors can directly relate to what fellow addicts and alcoholics are now going through.

One drawback of many rehabilitation centers is the inability to fully understand the drug addict or alcoholic. Anyone can read about the life of an alcoholic or drug addict but if they have never lived it themselves, they will never truly know the feelings, emotions, fears, and thoughts of an alcoholic or drug addict. Our instructors are able to explain what to expect in recovery, how to deal with certain situations or individuals and how to overcome temptations and remain sober. Every one of our instructors is a pillar of support.

Here at Mission Unity, we don’t just talk the talk, we walk the walk.

Our staff and instructors care about every individual that walks in our doors. We know firsthand that alcoholism and drug addiction is a life and death issue. We don’t just believe in our program, we live it, and you can too.

What You Can Expect

At Mission Unity Treatment Services recovery is found in three phases and begins the moment you decide you can’t live like this anymore. As you struggle to save your life, you will be required to put aside all else. You will have to concentrate every single ounce
of energy you possess on getting well. To do this, you will have to direct your physical and mental energy on the path to recovery almost to the exclusion of the things that are most dear to you, your friends, and yes, maybe even your love ones and your job for a short time until you are able to walk the path that needs to be taken for your sobriety.

You will have to learn about the disease, the support groups that can lead you out of the darkness (such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and Cocaine Anonymous) and how they can help you. Not only will you have to learn about your sobriety, but you must learn how to function sober, how to cope with your problems and how to survive without chemical dependency. The majority of drug and alcohol clients either lack or, in the process of their long history of alcohol and drug abuse, loose proper social skills. This is an issue of interaction with others and relatedness to others. Many clients are angry, hostile, guilt-ridden, embarrassed, paranoid, unable to form warm and lasting relationships; self-defeating, self-destructive, are in denial, undermine themselves, avoiding social interaction, etc.

At Mission Unity, it is a time for learning, a time for healing, a time to celebrate life. There is no shame in going back to school, to better yourself and your life with continuing education and a search for knowledge. We will teach you who you really are; what
you really want to become and the power you have to achieve even the highest of dreams and aspirations. We all have the power to choose, free will, but learning the proper use of our power of choice, is where the difference lies and lives are changed.

You will experience a wide range of physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual awakening in your classes at Mission Unity. We will introduce you to a new way of life called Recovered. We will teach you about the dangers of relapse, the situations and conditions you should avoid that triggers the craving to start the whole mess over again. We know you will have fears, we know you will have doubts, but we also know that you will have someone to turn to, someone to trust and someone to guide you along the way. Each and every step of the way, you will find that you are not alone.

At Mission Unity, we will introduce you to basic living skills like responsibility, empathy for others, assertiveness and communication skills. We will provide you a place to interact and socialize without the crutch of an addictive and harmful substance. Mission Unity will provide you a starting point to be honest with yourself and to be totally honest with others.

A place to learn from other people’s mistakes and to let others learn from yours. A chance to help others and feel useful needed and appreciated for the genuine person you really are.

Mission Unity will provide you with a place to acquire education, knowledge and information about recovery, about living and about going on. Mission Unity is a place where you will find sobriety is contagious and the people who have gone before you have found a way out of the darkness and into the light. Before you leave our program you are going to need a plan of action.

A personalized recovery plan consists of gathering information about you and your situation back home and writing out a plan of action to take with you. This way, when you go home you are fully prepared to deal with any situation or any individual that may cross your path. Before you leave our facility, we help you find a support group for you to attend, names and numbers of individuals from that group and even a temporary sponsor until you are able to find a permanent one.    All of this and more is specifically put together to meet your needs.

Includes: Initial Substance Abuse Assessment, Complete Physical Exam, Treatment Plan, Individual Counseling Sessions, Daily Group Sessions, Psychosocial Assessment, Service Coordination and Case Management, Consultation, Continuing Assessment and Treatment Plan Reviews, Aftercare Planning and Referrals, Client, Family, and Community Education and much more.
